Four administrative units in Kobuleti municipality in the Georgian Black Sea region of Adjara will be placed under “strict quarantine” after several locals tested positive for the coronavirus.
The administrative units of Gvara, Mukhaestate, Leghva and Tskavroka will be placed under “strict quarantine” as the infected individuals had contact with a large group of people.
Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia’s spokesperson Irakli Chikovani announced at a news briefing this morning that the quarantine aims to minimise further spread of the virus.
He said each local resident will be screened. However, Chikovani called on everyone to remain home and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
