Police have fined 139 people for violating state of emergency regulations and curfew during the last 24 hours in Georgia.
The Georgian Interior Ministry reported today that police have fined:
- 55 individuals for public gathering
- 59 individuals for violating the curfew regulations
- 1 legal entity for violating rules of business activities
- 19 individuals for violating rules of transportation and driving
- 5 individuals for violating rules of quarantine and self-isolation
The Interior Ministry again calls on everyone to follow the regulations of the state of emergency, otherwise individuals will face a fine of 3,000 GEL, while legal entities will face a fine of 15,000 GEL; repeat offence is punishable by three years in prison.

As of now, Georgia has confirmed a total of 233 cases of COVID-19, including 56 recoveries and three deaths.
Georgia has declared the state of emergency until April 21. Tougher restrictions to contain the spread of the virus include a nationwide curfew that takes effect from 21:00 – 06:00 during the state of emergency.
Two individuals have recovered from the coronavirus in Georgia increasing the total number of recoveries to 56. One of the recovered patients is a two-year-old child who went under treatment at the Academician Vakhtang Bochorishvili Clinic in Tbilisi.
The total number of confirmed cases in Georgia includes 54 recoveries, three deaths, 174 infected individuals who remain in various hospitals, as well as two foreigners who have returned to their respective country soon after the tested positive on COVID-19.
US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan says Georgia is impressively coping with the challenges caused by coronavirus in an online meeting held today with Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaridze.
A total of 79 Georgian school students have arrived home from the United States amid the coronavirus pandemic. The students were first brought from the US to Qatar and afterwards they were flown from Doha to Tbilisi. All of the students will spend a mandatory 14-day quarantine in hotels in Tbilisi and Kakheti.
Four more individuals have recovered from the coronavirus in Georgia increasing the total number of recoveries to 60. As of now, there are a total of 242 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country, including three deaths. 174 infected individuals remain in various hospitals.
Four administrative units in Kobuleti municipality in the Georgian Black Sea region of Adjara will be placed under “strict quarantine” after several locals tested positive for the coronavirus. The administrative units of Gvara, Mukhaestate, Leghva and Tskavroka will be placed under “strict quarantine” as the infected individuals had contact with a large group of people.
Police have fined 5 individuals for violating rules of quarantine and self-isolation, 19 individuals for violating rules of transportation and driving, 94 individuals for violating the curfew regulations and 60 individuals for public gathering.
Lentekhi municipality in the western Georgian region of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti has been placed under “strict quarantine” after four locals tested positive for the coronavirus. Given the full quarantine, local residents will be able to go out only to buy food or medicines, or receive medical care.
