Two individuals have recovered from the coronavirus in Georgia increasing the total number of recoveries to 56.
One of the recovered patients is a two-year-old child who went under treatment at the Academician Vakhtang Bochorishvili Clinic in Tbilisi.
As of now, Georgia has confirmed a total of 233 cases of COVID-19, including three deaths.
Three Georgian citizens infected with COVID-19 have been delivered from Armenia and Turkey, however, such patients will be counted separately.
Two foreign citizens who tested positive for the coronavirus in March have returned to their country.
The rest of 172 infected individuals remain in various hospitals in Georgia.
US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan says Georgia is impressively coping with the challenges caused by coronavirus in an online meeting held today with Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaridze.
The EU will allocate 183 million euros for Georgia in the fight against the coronavirus, Director for the EU's Eastern Neighbourhood Lawrence Meredith has tweeted.
Georgia has helped 2,425 of its citizens in more than 40 foreign countries amid the coronavirus outbreak, said Minister of Foreign Affairs David Zalkaliani earlier today. The aid included accommodation, food, transport, medicines and online medical consultations and emergency service.
The Interior Ministry again calls on everyone to follow the regulations of the state of emergency, otherwise individuals will face a fine of 3,000 GEL, while legal entities will face a fine of 15,000 GEL; repeat offence is punishable by three years in prison.
Four more individuals have recovered from the coronavirus in Georgia increasing the total number of recoveries to 60. As of now, there are a total of 242 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country, including three deaths. 174 infected individuals remain in various hospitals.
Lentekhi municipality in the western Georgian region of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti has been placed under “strict quarantine” after four locals tested positive for the coronavirus. Given the full quarantine, local residents will be able to go out only to buy food or medicines, or receive medical care.
