Georgia takes the 19th place among the world’s top 30 wine exporting countries in 2017, says the American Association of Wine Economists (AAWE), an educational organisation dedicated to encouraging economic research and analyses and exchanging ideas in wine economics.
France, Italy and Spain take the first three spots on the list, while Malaysia takes the last place.
Georgia exported 76.7 million bottles of wine to 53 countries in 2017 and generated about $171 million from the sale of wine abroad. Revenue increased by 49% from 2016, while the volume of exports increased by 54%, said the Georgian National Wine Agency.
