Jan-Feb 2018: Georgia earns $24.3m by exporting 10.8m bottles of wine

Georgia exported 10.8 million bottles of wine to 38 countries in January-February 2018, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency.
During the first two months of 2018 Georgia generated about $24.3 million from the sale of wine abroad.
Revenue increased by 18 percent from January-February 2017, while the volume of exports increased by 23 percent, said the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Export growth was notable in the following countries:
- Japan – 213 percent increase (44,292 bottles)
- Great Britain – 137 percent increase (36,108 bottles)
- Estonia – 75 percent increase (88,326 bottles)
- Israel – 58 percent increase (31,272 bottles)
- Latvia – 43 percent increase (262,110 bottles)
The top five countries that imported the most bottles of Georgia wine in January-February 2018 were:
- Russia – 7,425,286 bottles
- Ukraine – 972,976bottles
- China – 559,168 bottles
- Kazakhstan – 501,282 bottles
- Poland – 441,202 bottles
In the first two months of 2018, 109 companies exported their wines abroad, said the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Meanwhile, Georgia exported 2.2 million bottles of Georgian brandy and 29,800 bottles of Chacha abroad in January-February 2018.
Georgia exported 5.12 million bottles of wine to 24 countries in January 2018, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Georgia exported 76.7 million bottles of wine to 53 countries in 2017 – a record number of wine in the past 30 years, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Georgia exported 70.2 million bottles of wine to 52 countries from January to November 2017, adding $154.8 million to the economy.
Georgia has exported about 61 million bottles of wine between January-October 2017, which is 59 percent more in comparison with the same period last year, official figures read.
Georgia exported 17.7 million bottles of wine to 43 countries in the first quarter of 2018, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency. In January-March 2018 Georgia generated about $40.47 million from the sale of wine abroad.
Georgia exported 25 million bottles of wine to 43 countries in the first four months of 2018, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency. In January-April of 2018 Georgia generated about $59.2 million from the sale of wine abroad. In the reporting period 147 companies exported their wines abroad.
Georgia exported 31.5 million bottles of wine to 46 countries in the first five months of 2018, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Georgia exported 38.2 million bottles of wine to 48 countries in the first six months of 2018, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Georgia exported 45.4 million bottles of wine to 50 countries in the first seven months of 2018, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency. In January-July of 2018 Georgia generated about $107.8 million from the sale of wine abroad.
Georgia takes the 19th place among the world’s top 30 wine exporting countries in 2017, says the American Association of Wine Economists (AAWE), an educational organisation dedicated to encouraging economic research and analyses and exchanging ideas in wine economics.
