11 months data: Georgia earns $155m by exporting 70m bottles of wine

Georgia exported 70.2 million bottles of wine to 52 countries from January to November 2017, adding $154.8 million to the economy.
Revenue increased by 49 percent from the same period in 2016, while the volume of exports increased by 54 percent, said the Georgian National Wine Agency.
The top five countries that imported Georgian wine in January-November 2017 were:
- Russia – 43,903,947 bottles
- Ukraine – 7,660,334 bottles
- China – 6,736,081 bottles
- Kazakhstan – 3,096,879 bottles
- Poland – 2,388,352 bottles
Wine exports also increased to the European Union (EU), China and other traditional export markets for Georgia, said the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Meanwhile, Georgia exported 16,337,174 bottles of Georgian brandy to 25 countries in the first 11 months of 2017. This was a 82 percent increase year-over-year (y/y).
So far this year, Georgia has generated $35.3 million from the sale of brandy abroad.
Georgia also exported 251,000 bottles of Chacha to 22 countries – 170 percent more compared to the same period of last year. By selling Chacha abroad Georgia generated $767,700, which was 142 percent increase y/y.
In total, Georgia has sold $257.7 million worth of alcoholic beverages in January-November 2017, including wine, brandy, chacha and others.
Georgia has exported about 61 million bottles of wine between January-October 2017, which is 59 percent more in comparison with the same period last year, official figures read.
Georgia exported 52.7 million bottles of wine to 45 countries from January to September 2017, adding $116 million to the economy. Revenue increased by 55 percent from the same period in 2016, while the volume of exports increased by 63 percent, said the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Georgia exported 38.3 million bottles of wine to 44 countries from January to July 2017, adding $84.3 million to the economy.
Georgia exported 31.5 million bottles of wine to 44 countries from January to June 2017, adding $70.5 million to the economy. Revenue increased by 51 percent from the same period in 2016, while the volume of exports increased by 59 percent.
Georgia exported 76.7 million bottles of wine to 53 countries in 2017 – a record number of wine in the past 30 years, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Georgia exported 5.12 million bottles of wine to 24 countries in January 2018, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Georgia exported 10.8 million bottles of wine to 38 countries in January-February 2018, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency. During the first two months of 2018 Georgia generated about $24.3 million from the sale of wine abroad.
Georgia exported 17.7 million bottles of wine to 43 countries in the first quarter of 2018, announces the Georgian National Wine Agency. In January-March 2018 Georgia generated about $40.47 million from the sale of wine abroad.
