Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze stated at the International Economic Forum of the Americas (IEFA) that the main strategy of the government of Georgia is to turn the country into a regional hub of logistics, international business, tourism, education and technologies.
IEFA is taking place in Montreal, Canada, where Bakhtadze arrived yesterday to participate in the forum and deliver a keynote speech in the panel discussion ‘A Global Economy in Transition’.

Bakhtadze talked about the investment potential of Georgia, its favourable geographic location and opportunities offered by the country to the business community.
We are a gateway for eight landlocked countries, positioned right in the middle of the Eurasian continent. Thus, our main strategy is to turn Georgia into a regional hub of logistics, international business, tourism, education and technologies”, said Bakhtadze.

He talked about the achievements of Georgia and said that “we have particularly impressive achievements in the sectors of tourism and energy, especially in the area of renewable energy sources as Georgia is rich with hydro resources”.
The third advancing sector is mining and I am delighted that Canadian companies are keen in getting their foothold in Georgia”, said Bakhtadze.
The IEFA conference opened yesterday and gathered almost 4,000 participants. The conference will conclude on June 13.

The document was signed after the meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze and the US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross.
Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze has opened a large-scale project “Georgia, Europe” initiated by the Georgian Ministry of Culture, and stated that the Georgian and European cultures are similar.
