Georgian PM participates in International Economic Forum of the Americas

Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze has joined over 200 top officials in Montreal, Canada to participate in the International Economic Forum of the Americas (IEFA), and addressed the opening session and delivered a speech at the discussions dedicated to “Global Economy in Transition.”

The IEFA aims to promote an exchange of views and perspectives on pressing economic issues of our times among world leaders, renowned experts and business executives.

Bakhtadze was one of the speakers of the discussion which accented the concern of economists and investors that global economic growth has hit its peak and that it is now entering a slow-down phase.

Bakhtadze participated in this discussion together with President and Chief Executive Officer of CPP Investment Board, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of RockCreek, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Investcorp and Executive Chairman of S4 Capital.

Earlier, before participating in the forum Bakhtadze met with the President of the IEFA Nicholas Remillard, who thanked Bakhtadze for participating in the forum and expressed hope that his speech will be an important message to businesspersons interested in investing in Georgia.

At the meeting, Bakhtadze talked about the investment environment of Georgia and its leading positions in international rankings.

The Montreal Conference opened today and will be concluded on June 13.
