Ireland and Georgia pledge cooperation in cybercrime and security

 A delegation of the Cybersecurity and Cybercrime Investigative Research Centre of the National University of Ireland is paying an official visit to the State Security Service of Georgia today.

Meetings have been held between the head of the Operative-Technical Agency Koba Kobidze and his deputies with the Irish delegation, in addition to specialists in cybersecurity, cybercrime investigation and digital forensics.

The delegation was introduced to the achievements and opportunities of the Operative-Technical Agency in the field of cybercrime and digital forensics.

 A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Operative-Technical Agency and the National University of Ireland concerning cooperation in cybercrime investigation and digital forensics, including trainings, exchange visits, study programmes, the exchange of scientific research and consultation services.

The Cybersecurity and Cybercrime Investigative Research Centre of the National University of Ireland is one of the leading research centres in the European Union in the field. The Operative-Technical Agency is the first state agency in the Caucasus region to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Cybersecurity and Cybercrime Investigative Research Centre of the National University of Ireland.
