Georgian and Irish Parliament Speakers Archil Talakvadze and Seán Ó Fearghaíl held a remote meeting earlier today pledging to deepen their countries’ ties.
Speaker Talakvadze wrote in a Facebook post that during the meeting they spoke of strengthening cooperation between Georgia and Ireland, Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, as well as post-pandemic challenges of both countries.
Delighted to talk to my Irish colleague Seán Ó Fearghaíl @SOFearghail_TD, very experienced politician reelected as speaker. Underlined the 25th anniversary of ????????-???????? diplomatic relations & future cooperation. To have friends & be a friend is what makes Georgia strong. pic.twitter.com/siBBcw4GaH— Archil Talakvadze (@A_Talakvadze) February 11, 2021
Talakvadze meanwhile cited his Irish counterpart saying that Georgia has achieved tangible progress and that Ireland is ready to support the country on its path to EU membership.
