28 internally displaced families from Georgia’s breakaway regions of Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) and Abkhazia have received new apartments today in one of the central streets in the city of Marneuli, Kvemo Kartli.
Sozar Subari, Georgia’s Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees, personally gave keys to their new owners.

Subari also visited some of the families to better familiarise himself with their living conditions.
I still hope these will be temporary homes [for IDP families] and they will soon return [to their original homes]. However, before that we can say their displacement in shelters is over and from now on each of them will have their own apartments”, Minister Subari said.

Subari said these are the families that have been living in temporary shelters in Kvemo Kartli municipalities of Marneuli, Bolnisi and Dmanisi for years.
