Former Minister of Internally Displaced Persons, Accommodation and Refugees Sozar Subari will chair the new Regional Management Agency at the government administration, the Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze announced today.

Bakhtadze said that the Regional Management Agency had been separated from the Ministry of Infrastructure and was moved to the government administration.

Our previous experience showed us the necessity of the creation of such an agency within the government administration. The agency will ensure the government’s maximal engagement and coordination in terms of regional policy,” Bakhtadze said.

The PM stated that "unfortunately the regional management system does not respond to existing challenges” and he hoped that the new agency would play a significant role in settling the problem.
