Mountainous Adjara offers new tourist route in alpine zone

Tourists will have the opportunity to enjoy a new route in mountainous Adjara, in the country’s west, starting from next year.

The name of the new route is Chirukhi-Khikhani-Goderdzi and the Tourist Product Development Agency of Adjara Tourist Department is working on demarcating the route. 

Specialists are now marking all cycling, jeep and pedestrian tracks leading from Chirukhi mountain via Khikhani fortress to the Goderdzi pass.

The agency says the marking of the route, making information boards and signs, as well as their installation, production of the route maps and selecting of family hotels will be completed in 2018.

The Chirukhi mountain, Khikhani fortress and the Goderdzi pass are particular tourist sites in Adjara .The new route in a wonderful nature will be attractive and full of adventures for tourists.
The route will link two municipalities  and tourists will not have to use a central highway. The route lies in the alpine zone, surrounded by excellent views,” Adjara Tourism Department says.

The department reads that tourists will see lakes, waterfalls, pastures and the fortress on the route and familiarize themselves with the mountainous Adjarian villages and nature.

The department says the route provides a long-journey for tourists, between three and five days.
