Georgia becomes more strongly connected to the United Kingdom (UK) with the flight from its capital of Tbilisi to London this summer.

Georgian Airways starts performing its direct flights on the route Tbilisi-London-Tbilisi on Boeing 737-700.

Congratulating the Georgian Airways with this international route, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili hoped it will contribute to deepening cooperation between Georgia and Great Britain, strengthening ties between Georgian and British people and increasing tourism.

Britain’s Ambassador to Georgia Justin McKenzie Smith also believes "links between Britain and Georgia, in all kinds of areas, are expanding quickly" so that "making the journey between London and Tbilisi easier and shorter can only help those ties to grow even stronger”.

Currently Georgia has 21 flight destinations to 13 European countries and the number of those travelling from the Georgian airports in Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi has increased by 47% in the last five months.

Soon the summer aviation season will be in full swing and more flights from a wide variety of airlines will be flying in and out of Georgia. Photo by the PM's press office
