Soon the summer aviation season will be in full swing and more flights from a wide variety of airlines will be flying in and out of Georgia.
Greek airline company Aegean Airlines recently announced it is launching a new direct flight between Heraklion and Tbilisi. Heraklion is the largest city and the administrative capital of the island of Crete.
Flights will be carried out once a week from June 14 to September 13.
Aegean Airlines has been operating in Georgia since 2012 and carries out regular Tbilisi-Athens flights. It will be the second Greek airlines to offer Tbilisi-Heraklion flights too this summer. Another Greek airline company Ellinair will carry out weekly Tbilisi-Heraklion flights from June 15 to September 14.

This summer Ukrainian airline company ANDA Air will also launch new flights.
Batumi-Kiev flights will take place twice a week from June 3 to August 30. Batumi-Kryvyi Rih flights will take place once a week from June 21 to August 30.
The Georgian Civil Aviation Agency granted flight permissions to all these new airlines on May 15.
