Election observers: “Voting process calm and organised”

Hundreds of observers from one of the country’s leading non-governmental organisations says the Second Round of Parliamentary Elections are running peacefully in Georgia.

About 700 accredited and trained observers from the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED) confirmed by 7pm that today's voting process had taken place in a calm and organised manner.

The majority of the day had passed without major incident however ISFED reported a few cases of significant violations. The majority of these cases were observed at polling stations in southern Marneuli region.

So far today ISFED observers filed 32 complaints with the District Electoral Commissions (DECs) and 31 complaints at the Precinct Electoral Commission (PECs). ISFED observers also made 49 entries in the record books.
