Voting has finished across Georgia and now the process of counting votes and tabulating results are underway.

For the first time in the 25-year history of independent Georgia, the Central Election Commission (CEC) is broadcasting live footage of election votes being counted.

Below is live footage from a special room at the CEC headquarters in Tbilisi where the final vote counting is taking place.

"The idea behind the live stream is to make the vote counting process transparent for the public,” CEC head Tamar Zhvania told local media.
