Georgia and China are deepening cooperation in the fields of agriculture, tourism, science, modern technologies and construction.
Today Georgia’s Agriculture Minister Otar Danelia and head of the state-owned shareholding company the Partnership Fund Davit Saganelidze hosted an honorable delegation from China. The Chinese delegation was led by the deputy governor of Shaan'xi province Wang Lixia.
Georgian and Chinese officials discussed current bilateral trade and economic relations and possible ways to enhance their relationship in new directions.
Agriculture is very well-developed in the Shaan'xi province. We want to launch active cooperation with the Georgian side in the field of agriculture, especially in viticulture and winemaking directions,” said Lixia.
In return Danelia thanked the Chinese delegation for China’s efforts in developing Georgia’s agricultural sector.
China is implementing various grant programs in Georgia. Georgia and China have historic connections in developing the tea culture in our country. We want to restore these connections in order to revive tea production in Georgia,” Danelia said.
The Agriculture Minister added Georgia was actively involved in diversifying its export market and had targeted the Chinese market as a strategically important market to penetrate.
Danelia also positively assessed Georgian growing wine exports to China and said Georgian wine now took a "worthy place” in the Chinese market.
