A Georgian Culture House will open  in the Chinese city of Yiwu in the near future as a symbol of the close cooperation between the two countries.

It will be the first large-scaled Georgian-Chinese project.

The positive news came after today's meeting between Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and representatives and the Chinese trade-economic Suolun Group, who provided details of future construction projects with the Georgian official.

The aim of the Georgiam Culture House, stretched over 3,000m2, was to  popularise Georgian culture in China, Garibashvili said.

The five-storey building will provide information and exhibitions on Georgian cuisine, folk dance and music, Georgian wine and handicrafts, agriculture products and other Georgian related specifics in the city of 1.2 million people.

Yiwu is famous for its small commodity trade and vibrant market.

We believe the Georgian Culture House will be Georgia’s window in the modern world,” Suolun Group representatives said.

The company, together with Georgia’s Tbilinvest Group, has already opened a Georgian wine house in China and exported Georgian mineral waters.
