Georgia is welcoming tourists and visitors to the country this summer holiday season with open arms.
More guests are expected to spend time in Georgia this summer thanks to international promotion campaigns, increased global awareness of Georgia’s tourism potential.
A tourism campaign involving a montage of images showing some of the best and unique parts of Georgia is now screening on Euronews and American news broadcaster CNN.
The collection of images show a wide variety of attractions; the sea, mountain resorts, historical and cultural monuments and other beautiful sights of Georgia.
Guests who come to Georgia this summer will be able to enjoy a plethora of outstanding sightseeing attractions, as well as several large-scale international events.
From July 25 to August 1, Tbilisi will host the 13thbiennial 2015 European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF).
The event, known as Tbilisi 2015, will see more than 4,000 youth athletes from 49 European countries descend on Georgia’s capital to participate in the competition for young European athletes.
Sporting enthusiasts will also be able to enjoy one of Europe’s most prestigious football events - The UEFA Super CUP at Tbilisi’s Dinamo Arena on August 11.
The UEFA Super Cup is an annual sporting challenge between the reigning champions of the two main European club competitions – the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
Meanwhile in July a massive outdoor music festival will be held in Georgia’s capital.
More than 70 artists across a range of genres will perform at the Tbilisi Open Air 2015 festival, which will be held at the Tbilisi Sea New City from July 3-7.
The festival’s headline acts include Russian rock star Zemfira, English alternative rock bands Placebo, and Archive, American blues-rock diva Beth Hart, internationally recognised heavy metal band Black Label Society, Australian experimental collective group Soap & Skin, British trio Tiger Lillies, and more.
Meanwhile on the other side of the country, Georgia’s seaside city Batumi is attracting big names in the music industry for the Black Sea Jazz Festival, to be held from July 23-26.
Internationally acclaimed musicians, such as RnB legend, multi-platinum artist and entertainer Snoop Dogg, soul-pop diva Lisa Stansfield, RnB/soul singer Liv Warfield and funk music icon George Clinton will make their musical debut at this year’s festival in Batumi.
