We do not know who released the graphic photos of Zurab Zhvania and Raul Usupov, said Georgia’s Minister of Interior Affairs Alexander Chikaidze before entering today’s Government meeting.

"It will be right if people do not speculate on Zhvania’s case. I do not know how the photos were distributed on the social network. The investigation is being undertaken by the Chief Prosecutor’s Office and we should wait for its results,” he said.

Chikaidze was one of many Government Ministers who commented on the scandalous photo collage showing the injured corpses of late Prime Minister Zurab Zvania and Deputy Governor of Kvemo Kartli region Raul Usupov.

Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs David Sergeenko said experts would determine the authenticity of the photos.

"I am not a specialist to evaluate the authenticity of these photos however I think there are experts who will answer all our questions,” Sergeenko said before entering the Government meeting.

Minister of Finance Nodar Khaduri said the truth would soon be revealed.

"I hope the Prosecution will soon finish the investigation and everything will be revealed. The Prosecutor’s Office will continue to work [on the case] however many things match [in the images] to what was said in the past,” Khaduri said.

Minister of Corrections and Legal Assistance Sozar Subari noted society had many questions about the case and said the investigation would answer them.

"I cannot say anything about the authenticity of the photos. As for the investigation, the former Chief Prosecutor Archil Kbilashvili repeatedly said the investigation was underway and that details would be announced soon, so I am waiting together with you to find out what really happened.”

"Investigations by journalists many years ago, including the investigation of Vakhtang Komakhidze, raised many questions in society which were unanswered at the time. It is necessary to clear everything up and ensure the questions will be answered by the investigation,” Subari said.

The video titled "Saakashvili killed Mr. Zurab Zhvania” was uploaded on youtube by a user named Hakim Pasha yesterday. The montage contained still photos of the bodies that identified a number of possible injuries that could be relevant to the men’s deaths.

The men were found dead in a rented apartment in the early morning of February 3, 2005. Zhvania was one of the main contributors to the 2003 Rose Revolution and ally of ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili.
