Georgia’s Parliament is planning to approve a statement regarding the developments in Ukraine at today’s plenary session.

Head of Georgian Dream faction Giorgi Volski noted Parliament had already adopted two resolutions about the Ukraine crisis however since then, the situation had escalated further.

"New aggression has taken place – an obvious open military aggression [and] invasion of the Russian Federation into the sovereign territory of a state,” Volski said.

"Georgian Parliament supports international efforts, as well as Georgian Government’s efforts, to help Ukraine, including by offering humanitarian aid. All resource and measures should be used to stop military actions and aggression,” he noted.

The new resolution is expected to be adopted at the first plenary meeting of the Parliament’s fall session, which will be held in Kutaisi today.

The fall session opened yesterday in Tbilisi in the historical Parliament building.
