A meeting between Georgian and Ukrainian Presidents will take place next week at the NATO Summit in Wales.
It was decided the two leaders would meet at yesterday’s meeting between Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili and Ukrainian Ambassador to Georgia Vasil Tsibenko.
The pair discussed the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine.
"Ukraine is in desperate need of international support and assistance and I am extremely grateful to Georgia for taking sides with us,” the Ambassador said after the meeting.
"This is definitely of utmost importance for us now; we do need friends in these troubled times.”
Tsibenko believed the current developments in his country could really "touch the bottom of the Georgians’ heart” as they too had experienced similar hardship.
