Four individuals were arrested in Tbilisi for drug-related crimes, following a police investigation spanning a recent period of time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia said on Monday.
The Ministry said officers of the Main Division for Combating Drug Trafficking had made the arrests as a result of “complex investigative activities” carried out at different times recently.
Identified only through their initials, the apprehended persons were charged with illegal purchase, storage and sale of “especially large quantities” of drugs.
Law enforcers also seized seven kilograms of cocaine and two packages of heroin during the personal search of the suspects.
The crime is punishable by five to 20 years in prison, or life imprisonment.
