Georgian police have arrested a group of 14 individuals, including a foreign citizen, for sale, purchase and possession of illegal drugs in Tbilisi and other regions of the country, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Tuesday.
The police statement said law enforcers had discovered the suspects were selling drugs “on a regular basis”, and recorded evidence through a controlled purchase of various types of substances from the dealers.
Law enforcers seized heroin, alpha-PVP and buprenorphine during a personal search of the suspects.
The crime, which takes the number of individuals charged with the offence in Georgia this year to 88, is punishable up to 20 years in prison, or life imprisonment.
