Police have arrested seven individuals, including a foreign citizen, for sale, purchase and store of illegal drugs in Tbilisi, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Thursday.
A police statement said law enforcers had discovered the suspects were selling drugs on a regular basis, and recorded evidence through controlled purchases of heroin, buprenorphine and alpha-PVP from the dealers.
Four of the arrested offenders have been charged with sale of the substances, while others face charges of purchase and store.
During their raid on the group, police seized 59 packs of heroin, over half a kilogram of cannabis, a pack of methadone, eight ammunition cartridges, as well as $1,800 and ₾1,700 (about $553/€507) in cash.
The crimes are punishable by eight to 20 years in prison.
