Davit Matikashvili, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Monday said Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s first official visit to Brussels would be “successful”.
In his remarks over the ongoing visit, Matikashvili said the country’s rapprochement with the European Union was proceeding “at a fast pace”, and further pointed out it was “natural that Irakli Kobakhidze went to Brussels for his first visit as Prime Minister”.
“Of course, we expect a successful visit with corresponding outcomes”, he added.
The MP also said the country’s relationship with the EU would be “further deepened” and that the “further steps” for bringing Georgia and the bloc closer together would become “more evident”.
