The main directions of the existing strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States were discussed on Saturday by Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and General Christopher Cavoli, the Commander of the US European Command.
At the meeting held within the framework of the Munich Security Conference, the sides emphasised the US’s firm, political and practical support towards Georgia, with the American side noting the unwavering support for Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and foreign policy priorities.

The conversation also touched on the security environment in the Black Sea region and the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia, the Foreign Ministry said.
Darchiashvili and Cavoli highlighted the increased importance of the Black Sea region both in terms of security and economy.
