Pawel Herczynski, the European Union Ambassador to Georgia, on Thursday highlighted the significance of “quick” movement toward the opening of accession talks between Georgia and the European Union.
In his remarks, Herczynski noted the outcome required a “very serious approach and serious reforms” from Georgia.
“I hope that even though the election campaign will slowly become the main matter, the work to complete the nine steps [outlined by the European Commission for opening the talks] will continue”, he said.
The diplomat also noted the upcoming visit of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to Brussels and expressed his hope the EU and the Georgian Government would agree on required steps in the process.
He further highlighted the significance of “inclusiveness” to be shown on the part of the Government and “constructive approach” from the domestic opposition in the work.
