Natia Turnava, the Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, on Tuesday met with Gareth Edward Ward, the newly appointed Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the country, to discuss “close cooperation” between the NBG and the central bank of the UK.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of fostering future cooperation and information-sharing between the institutions, including development of financial technologies, the NBG said.

Turnava emphasised the UK represented a “vital partner” for Georgia, with cooperation being a “top priority” for both the country and the National Bank.
