UK appoints new Ambassador to Georgia

The Government of the United Kingdom on Monday appointed Gareth Edward Ward as the new Ambassador to Georgia.

Ward replaces Mark Clayton in the role, and will assume the position in August, the UK Government’s official webpage said.

In his previous capacity, Ward headed the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Department in the British foreign office.

He also worked as the UK Ambassador in Vietnam between 2018 and 2022.
