UK Ambassador in video: “very enthusiastic” about assignment to Georgia

Gareth Ward, the newly appointed Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Georgia, on Friday released a video message in Georgian language, where he said he was “very enthusiastic” about his diplomatic assignment to the country.

Ward noted he was “very happy” to return to Georgia for the spell in the position.

“My first week in Georgia as British Ambassador is coming to an end. I am very happy to return to Georgia after 25 years since I first visited your country. I may have aged a little over the years, but I am still very enthusiastic about starting to work in my new position”, he said.

The Ambassador on Tuesday presented his credentials to Georgia’s Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili.
