The rescuers recovered the bodies of two more individuals in the western municipality of Baghdati in the Imereti region after a landslide that hit the village of Nergeeti on Tuesday, the Interior Ministry confirmed to the local media. 

Search and rescue efforts in the location are “intensively” ongoing to find the remaining missing individual.

The Interior Ministry has said rescuers recovered the body of a sixth individual in the western municipality of Baghdati in the Imereti region after a landslide that hit the village of Nergeeti on Tuesday. 

The Ministry said search and rescue efforts in the location were “intensively” ongoing to find the remaining three missing individuals, while one survivor had been rescued.

Rescuers working in the area of the western Georgian municipality of Baghdati in the Imereti region have recovered the body of the fifth victim of the landslide that hit the location on Tuesday.

The Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the updated figures to the Georgian Public Broadcaster.

The Ministry said one survivor had been rescued, while search and rescue operations were ongoing to find the remaining four missing individuals.

Temur Mgebrishvili, the Head of the Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, on Wednesday said rescuers had recovered the body of a fourth individual in the western municipality of Baghdati in the Imereti region after a landslide that hit the village of Nergeeti on Tuesday. 

Abundant overnight rainfall in the region caused the landslide, which covered four residential houses under a land mass, the Interior Ministry said. 

 

The body said one survivor had been rescued, while search and rescue operations were still ongoing.
