Georgian judoka Giorgi Sardalashvili on Sunday claimed a gold medal in the -60 kg weight category at the World Championships in Abu Dhabi.
Sardalashvili defeated his rival Yang Yung Wei from Taiwan with a waza-ari in extra time in the final round to score the result.
The 20-year-old athlete became the youngest from the country to earn the title of the Champion.
The competition features 658 athletes from 107 countries and is set to end on Thursday.
The Georgian national judo team have claimed seven medals, including two gold, two silver and three bronze medals, at the European Judo Championships Seniors in Zagreb and took first place in the overall team competition.
