Georgian para judokas Zurab Zurabiani and Giorgi Kaldani on Saturday claimed bronze medals at the ongoing IBSA Judo Grand Prix Tbilisi 2024, the final licence tournament for the 2024 Paris Summer Paralympics.
Zurabiani defeated his Brazilian rival Thiago Silva in the fight for third place, while Kaldani won over the Olympic Champion from Uzbekistan Feruz Saidov.
Six members of the Georgian para judo team are set to compete today in their respective weight categories.
Organised by the Georgian Paralympic Committee, with the support of the Sports Ministry and Tbilisi City Hall, over 200 judokas from 48 countries are competing in the tournament held at the Tbilisi Olympic Palace.
