Georgia’s Interior Ministry has launched an investigation after local media reported alleged murders in north-western Georgia’s Mestia municipality on Monday.
Two people were reportedly killed and one injured following a dispute in the village of Etseri, in the mountainous Svaneti region.
The Ministry told InterPressNews investigators were considering qualifying the incident as intentional killing under aggravating circumstances.
It also said law enforcement officers were present in the locality for conducting “active investigative actions”.
