The Georgian Prosecutor General’s Office on Monday said it had filed charges against a foreign citizen for coercion and attempted premeditated murder of his wife and two other individuals in Tbilisi.
The body said the assailant had attempted to force his wife into his car before driving it into two individuals who had intervened to help the woman.
The victim managed to evade the vehicle, before the perpetrator chased and attempted to stab her, with witnesses interfering to prevent injuries to the spouse.
Two individuals sustained “serious injuries” in the incident, the Office said, adding the alleged offender faced 16 to 20 years in prison if found guilty.
