The cooperation between the legislative bodies of Georgia and Azerbaijan was discussed on Monday in a meeting between the Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili and his Azerbaijani counterpart Sahiba Gafarova.
The officials reviewed parliamentary cooperation, including at the level of committees and friendship groups, and agreed on the further strengthening of the ties, the Georgian Parliament said.
The meeting also focused on the role of the lawmaking bodies in strengthening regional peace and trilateral cooperation between Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Gafarova expressed her “strong support” for the territorial integrity of Georgia at the meeting.
