Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Friday discussed cooperation between their governments in a phone call, the Georgian Government Administration said.
Aliyev congratulated Kobakhidze on his confirmation as the Prime Minister by the country’s Parliament.
For his part, Kobakhidze also extended his congratulations to Aliyev on winning the recent presidential elections in Azerbaijan.
The conversation touched on further deepening the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The Georgian Parliament on Thursday approved Kobakhidze, the former Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, as the Prime Minister following the resignation of the former PM Irakli Garibashvili.
