Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov discussed the existing strategic partnership between the two countries in a phone call, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Friday.
The Ministry said the parties “positively assessed” the existing dynamics of high-level cooperation as well as the ongoing processes in the South Caucasus region, with Bayramov congratulating Darchiashvili on his re-appointment to the position.
On his part, Darchiashvili congratulated his counterpart on successfully conducting the presidential elections in Azerbaijan.
He noted the strategic partnership and historical friendship between the two countries would continue and be further strengthened under the new Head of the Georgian Government.
The Georgian side once again confirmed its “readiness” to continue its efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
