Georgian Parliament official to observe Azerbaijan’s snap presidential election as part of OSCE PA mission

Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Georgian Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee Chair and the Head of the country’s Parliamentary Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe, will participate in the snap presidential election of Azerbaijan on Wednesday.
Samkharadze is set to observe the election within the framework of the OSCE PA election observation mission, the Parliament press office said on Tuesday.
In December the incumbent Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev called an early presidential election for February 7, 2024. The vote was originally going to be held in 2025.
Levan Ioseliani, a member of the Citizens opposition party and the vice speaker of the Georgian parliament, will attend the United States midterm elections as an observer next week.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Friday discussed cooperation between their governments in a phone call, the Georgian Government Administration said.
