Levan Ioseliani, a member of the Citizens opposition party and the vice speaker of the Georgian parliament, will attend the United States midterm elections as an observer next week.
Ioseliani is the only member of the Georgian parliament selected to observe the course of the American elections as an MP, the party press office said on Friday.
It should be noted that there are hybrid elections in the US, and in Los Angeles, where Ioseliani will be located, voting will be done by electronic system. Elections will last five days”, the party release noted.
The party also said the visit would enable the MP to observe the best practices, latest technologies and methodology as well as election innovations.
The US midterm elections will be held on Tuesday, with all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 seats in the Senate contested.
In addition, 39 state and territorial gubernatorial elections, as well as numerous other state and local elections, will also be held.
The results will determine the composition of the 118th US Congress.
