The cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan and joint projects were discussed on Monday in a meeting between the Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili and the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
The officials “positively” assessed the “close friendly and partnership” relations between the two countries and reviewed ongoing and planned projects and activities in transport, energy, culture, and people-to-people relations, the Parliament said.

The meeting emphasised the role and importance of the two parliaments of in strengthening the bilateral relations.
It also discussed the security environment in the South Caucasus region, developments around the Nagorno-Karabakh region and the possibilities of establishing “long-term” peace.
