Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Wednesday discussed bilateral partnership with Slovakia and Tbilisi’s European integration prospects with Matúš Bušovský, the country’s newly appointed Ambassador to Georgia.
The discussion at the Government's Tbilisi office revolved around fostering “successful bilateral and multilateral cooperation” between the states, along with exploring opportunities for its further enhancement, the Government press office said.
Particular attention was given to Georgia's advancements in European integration and the favorable recommendation from the European Commission this month over the granting of the bloc’s candidate status to Georgia.
In his comments, Garibashvili highlighted the nation's anticipation of the European Council's approval of the recommendation next month.

He also extended his gratitude to the Slovak authorities for their “steadfast support” of Georgia's sovereignty, territorial integrity and Euro-Atlantic integration.
