Paweł Herczyński, the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, on Tuesday said European integration was a “monumental” task that required involvement of all stakeholders through the Georgian Government being “inclusive” and the domestic opposition parties working in a “constructive” manner.

In his remarks over the matter, Herczyński noted that European integration was a national priority for the country.

“European integration is a huge task. It’s a monumental task. Everyone should be involved, and everyone should play its role”, the official said.

[C]learly, the Government should be inclusive, should reach out to the opposition, should listen to the civil society, but, at the same time, opposition parties should work in a constructive manner, trying to contribute to this joint effort”, Herczyński continued.

The diplomat also highlighted the Government had “immediately” started work on the implementation of nine steps set out by the European Commission.
