Giulio Terzi di Sant'Agata, the Italian Senator and former Foreign Minister, on Tuesday said Georgia “has achieved impressive progress”, which was also recognised by the European Commission.
Speaking at a conference of the European Union affairs committees of the national parliaments, the Senator noted the Western Balkans, as well as Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova, were part of the European family.
He highlighted the EU enlargement process as “a fundamental topic” for the bloc “to overcome the many challenges we [the EU] face”, stressing its importance for the “protection of European values and identity”.
The Georgian Parliamentary delegation is also participating in the conference, being held in Madrid, Spain.
