Irakli Beraia, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament's Defence and Security Committee, on Monday said cooperation between NATO and the country was at an “unprecedentedly high” level.
The Georgian Parliament cited Beraia as saying Georgian lawmakers would ensure “maximum support” for strengthening the ties between the Georgian Ministry of Defence and the alliance.
The body also said Lela Chikovani, the First Deputy Defence Minister, discussed defence cooperation with the bloc at a meeting of the Defence and Security Committee.
It said the official provided lawmakers with “detailed information” about the recent visit of Admiral Rob Bauer, the Chair of the NATO Military Committee, to the country and relations between the sides.
