Pharmacy regulatory body records 258 cases of illegal pharmaceutical activities

Georgia’s Regulation Agency for Medical and Pharmaceutical Activities has recorded 258 cases of illegal pharmaceutical activities in 62 pharmacies across the country this year, the body said on Friday.

The Agency said it had found pharmacies selling psychotropic drugs without doctor’s prescriptions and seized 97,753 units of drugs from them.

Eight out of the 14 authorised pharmacies had their permits revoked, while 12 had their operations suspended for three years.
