Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Thursday met Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov on the sidelines of the European Political Community Summit in Spain to discuss cooperation between the countries and future cooperation perspectives.

The Government Administration announced Garibashvili informed Denkov about the “positive steps” taken on the path of Georgia's European integration.

The body citied Garibashvili as saying that Georgia’s integration into the European Union was the “choice of the Georgian people and the main priority” of the Georgian Government's foreign policy.

The meeting noted that trade and economy remained “one of the important areas” of bilateral cooperation over the years, as Bulgaria “constantly remained” in the top 10 trade partners of Georgia.

The Administration said Garibashvili thanked his Bulgarian counterpart for the “firm support” of Bulgaria in the direction of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia, as well as the country's European integration.
