Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Thursday said the fact that Georgia had managed to double its gross domestic product over the last three years caused “an admiration of our European colleagues”.

In his comments to the media after the opening session of the third European Political Community Summit in Spain, the Head of the Government said “all were pleasantly surprised” that Georgia had “very strong” economic growth and low inflation and that all parameters were improving.

They also know that peace and stability are very important. They know that without peace there will be nothing and there will be complete misunderstanding in the region. This is appreciated by our European friends, and I reiterate that we will continue to communicate with them, we will work with Brussels”, Garibashvili said.

Garibashvili today attended the opening event of the plenary session of the third European Political Community Summit, alongside 47 leaders of European states and heads of various EU institutions.
